Shanghai is a classic mahjong solitaire game that offers players an engaging challenge. The objective is to eliminate all matching pairs of tiles from the board.

Tiles can only be matched and removed if they are free on either the left or right side, as well as on the top. Typically, exact matches between tiles are required for removal; however, there are noteworthy exceptions. Players can freely pair any two flower tiles or any two season tiles, adding an interesting twist to the gameplay.
